On November 12, 1962, James and Carrol Dixon, Sr., were blessed with their first of four children. They named him James Wallace Edwin Dixon, II. He would be the grandson of an esteemed Baptist minister, Rev. C.D. Dixon and of a successful business owner, Titus Barnes. Both grandmothers, Velma Dixon and Victoria Barnes were Christian educators and missionaries. From birth, James was nurtured by people with great values, virtues and vision. James is the proud father of Mariah Nicole, Victoria Elyse and James W.E. Dixon, III. James has lived a purposeful and productive life. He is highly respected in the Houston Community and in the nation as a man of vision whose leadership gifts and skills have proven to be beneficial to scores of religious, civic and business organizations.

On Sunday, July 19, 1981, Greater Mount Pillow Baptist Church (now the Community Of Faith), elected and called James to become their pastor. In 1986, James led the congregation to relocate to 1023 Pinemont Drive where they purchased larger facilities to accommodate rapid growth. During this time the church’s name was changed to The Community Of Faith Church (COF). He led the acquisition of 22.6 acres of land and in 1997 construction began on a state of the art 6.5 million dollar worship and ministry center. In 1999, the congregation entered the new edifice which is called The King’s Dome. James led the growth of the COF congregation from 150 to 3,000 current Visioneers (members). In 2006, James was consecrated as a Presiding Prelate of Kingdom Builders Global Fellowship through which he oversees pastors and churches in the U.S.A and in Uganda, Africa.
